PED의 적용범위

PED는 내부압력이 0.5 bar를 초과하는 압력용기, 파이핑, 보일러, 압력부속품, 안전부속품 등의 모든 신규 제작 기기에 적용한다. 이러한 기기의 범위는 아주 넓어서 작게는 압력요리기(Pressure Cooker)에서 크게는 대형 수관보일러 또는 대형 화학 반응로와 같은 모든 압력유체를 수용하는 기기 및 아셈블리를 대상으로 한다. 또는 모든 연성재료, 철강 또는 비철재료도 대상이 된다. 이렇게 적용의 범위를 넓히다 보니 PED에서 제외되는 기기도 많은데 아래의 세가지 범주로 대별된다.

① 규제하기가 아주 어려운 특정의 기기

(파이프라인, 원자력 품목...)

② 다른 고시에서 적용되는 기기

(단순 압력용기, 에어솔 디스펜서, 차량의 기능관련 기기...)

③ 압력으로 심각한 위해가 나타나지 않는 기기보다 상세한 것은 PED의 1조 3항에 게재된 목록을 참고하여 결정해
    야 한다.
